Family Favors

This is a diet that has floated around our family for awhile. We referred to it as Satan Diet, its hard, but totally works. When my sister decided to blog about it, I made it a little cuter than the old faxed papers that we had been emailing anytime someone wanted to know about it. It was a quick project, but hopefully people can understand the diet, via this:

  1. Courtney!! Just wanted to let you know, I pinned this a few days ago, (from your sister's blog, which I randomly found through someone posting on facebook) and I've never seen anything re-pinned so fast!! It got over 1000 re-pins in just a few days. Looks like you commented, so maybe you already knew that. :) Just wanted to let you know you're amazing!! Great design! -colette

  3. Hey , I also found your post on Pinterest. But the weirdest thing happened that has never happened before. The first pin I saw of it, I clicked on and it took me to one of those "congratulations you have won"...blah blah. It almost tricked me to try and win a $1,000 gift card to Kohl's. So I tried another location and it did it again. It's so weird and I wonder if Pinterest is now using this for ads, etc. So, finally I just searched the internet for the original source..found your sister's blog first...she said you designed the COOL POSTER for the diet... and now here I am telling you about it. LOL You do have talent. Now, if I can just try the diet out! Thank you!

  4. Hello! I also found you COOL POSTER for this diet via Pinterest. The weirdest thing happened at first. I think maybe they are now using ads and those third party sites ..when I clicked the pin it immediately went to "Congratulations you have won...". I almost got tricked into a bunch of surveys and submitting my email etc to win a $1,000 Kohl's gift card. So, I searched the internet for the original source...found your sister's blog....then found you are the one who designed the diet poster...and now here I am telling you about it. You have great skills... Now if I can just try the diet!! Thank you!

  5. OPPS sorry I didn't know this comment published...at first it said "service not available"... so I re-did my comment that had been "lost" (that's why the wording is different. Only to see it was posted after all. Sorry about that :-)

    1. Thanks Lisa! Thats so nice of you. Ya, this poster has done really well on Pinterest. I'm really excited the design has been so well received and the content as well (which I can't take credit for that!) Apparently, once a design catches on, people start using it to work in their own spam. I'm glad you found me though! Thanks for the nice remarks! Much appreciated!

  6. Is there a special way to cook the chicken/turkey? And how do you prepare your veggies? I'm so excited to start this 7 day diet :)

    1. I'm doing turkey lunch meat and grilled chicken. I'm unsure how the salt content in the lunch meat will effect my weight loss.. but I should be able to let you know tomorrow ;)

As far as the veggies go... The first veggie day, I did all raw.. I didn't find it all that satisfying (no dips, no dressings) until I had the potato for dinner. So.. the next day when you mix the fruit and veggies (which is way easier) - I did raw veggies during the day (at work, it was just easier) and I roasted asperagus, onions, and peppers. I put a little bit of olive oil and some seasoning. I can tell you that a little olive oil didn't slow my weight loss down. :) And it was FANTASTIC. ;) Good luck! I hope the diet works as well for you as it is for me!

    3. I ended up losing a total of 8 pounds that week. I waited a few weeks and I'm doing it now again - I'm on day 5 and am down another 5 pounds :) LOVE It!

  7. This diet is pretty easy to follow, and its working great for me. I started it on Monday - and this morning I was 5.5 pounds lighter. I'm thinking of modifying it next week - so I don't gain anything back. Then doing it again the following week. This might be a good strategy to get down to my goal weight!!! Thanks for this!!

    1. Thats great news!! Was there any certain veggies or fruits that held you over more than others? And are you just eating the serving sizes of each? Lol, I mean surely i cant just pig out on watermelon all day.

  8. Hi, I was interested in doing this.. I was just wondering about a couple of things.. I don't really like tomatoes (I know.. crazy!!), so is there something that could be substituted for that day? Also, I am allergic to melons, so is there another low cal fruit that could be recommended in place of watermelon and cantaloupe? Thanks!!

  9. Question: I hate raw tomatoes, can I substitute low cal tomato soup that day? Thanks :)

  10. Is there something that vegetarians can substitute for the chicken and turkey?

  11. So, do you eat the miracle soup all day on the last day? Or just for one meal and return to normal for other meals?

  14. This is an interesting diet. I am going to try this out soon. A group of my friends and I are going to try this out together but a few of us are struggling to stay on the entire week. Some don't eat meat, some don't eat tomatoes. I have created a Grocery list/ meal ideas week plan (not near as fancy as yours!) for this diet. Staying strictly on it mostly. I hope it turns out the way I plan! Thanks for sharing this!!

Oh and here is my list if anyone is interested :) http://wipeoffthesweat.tumblr.com/healthfood

    Thanks again,

  15. I'm on day three, and my daughter is on Day 4. So far, so good. I just wanted to highly recommend something I'd never even heard of before that I'm finding delicious--diced butternut squash (plain, raw). It's very low in calories (1 cup = 40 or 80 calories, depending on the source), and I think the fact that it's diced makes it feel like candy or something :) I found it already prepared at Wmart, but I prep it myself next time.

  16. Hi. I'm just finishing up day 4. At first I lost 3 pounds then today I weighed myself and t said I gained 2 of those pounds back. Is that normal ? Also, I'm a little sketchy about having chicken for breakfast. Can I have egg whites instead?? :)

  17. I just finished this diet. It was extremely hard, but I stuck to it. I felt very weak and irritable for the first few days (yes I did take the vitamins) but on day 4 it got easier. I really thought this would work for me, but to my disappointment, I only lost 3 lbs. I could have done that without torturing myself for a week. Obviously, this does not produce the same results for everyone.

  18. Does the weight stay off when you do this? Or do you gain it back the day you're off? Because I've heard that most dieters regain the weight or more after a diet, and I'd rather not lose ten pounds just to gain twenty, but I'm tempted to do this because I'm going to college soon and want to lose weight beforehand.
